Newborn Photography Session: The Ratcliffs | Otsego, Minnesota

Newborn photography session

A newborn photography session bring such joy!  They are so sweet.  Capturing those precious first moments of a new little life is like no other experience. When a family has worked with you for years, the experience becomes even more special.

We have had the privilege of watching the Ratcliff family grow over the years. We were thrilled to capture this new chapter in their lives. During our last session with them, Shannon surprised us with news of her pregnancy. I immediately guessed it when she said she had a surprise.  No idea how – just one of those things.  It was adorable because we put little shirts on the kids to announce the news.  We lost count of how many times we have photographed them.  However, we have seen all their kids grow since being newborns.

The atmosphere in their home was filled with excitement and love. Hazel, their daughter, was positively bursting with enthusiasm about her new sibling.   She’s just a little doll. She constantly wanted to hold him, which was so cute. Her little brother, now the middle child, was not having it, though. He did not want to get his photos taken because he did not want to wear a button-down shirt.  Once they took it off him after the shoot, he was all smiles. It was quite funny.

One of the things we love most about newborn photography sessions is the opportunity to capture the uniqueness of each family. No two families are the same.  Each one has its own dynamic and energy. It’s awesome getting to know families over the years. After we finished taking photos, we talked for another thirty minutes while the kids had lunch.  It’s wonderful when you form friendships with clients like that.   We just adore this family.  They are so fun.  I’m sure we will see them again soon!
