Portraits: Bre | Minneapolis Model
We first met Bre at the 93X XGirl competition this year when she was contending. Every year, we leave open spots for the XGirl contestants to shoot with us, as we work for the station as the staff photographer and have a load of references, including previous XGirls and others from the station whose family and weddings we have shot. It's always fun to shoot with the XGirls because we have a different style than the calendar they shoot. It's more of a sexy, yet fun look, and the girls always have a fun time with us. Bre was no exception to this rule. She was so much fun. This shoot was canceled twice, once due to us being hired to shoot KDWB's Jingle Ball and a second time due to massive illness on our end. She was awesome enough to shoot with us again. This time? It was -10 outside with a -30 wind chill, the weather warnings telling us that if we exposed any skin for longer than 30 minutes, we may get frostbite. We were not going to cancel this again, so we asked if she wanted to shoot at our home studio. As a woman, I always worry about asking models to shoot at our home studio because I know I would be apprehensive about it if I was asked to do it. That is why I am always there, as a female presence, along with Kyle. I feel it really helps in that regard. The great thing about shooting at our house is that we have a ton of windows, natural light, brick, backdrops, high ceilings, and more. It works so well in shoots. So we shot at the house and were able to do some great work. We also did a separate style against a white backdrop, which will be included in another post shortly.
Finally, we took advantage of the cold weather and shot the last photo in this series. You can't get this shot in warm weather. :)
"Amazing people to work with. :) Excited to see the photos, and even more excited to work with them again." - Bre
